Another successful event with the magnificent Nokota® Horses. Columbus Ohio hosted a 4-day Nokota colt start. It was a celebration of many firsts. The first to have only mares and fillies in the clinic and the first for having an 11 year old and 3 teenagers attend as participants. 11 horses graced Africa Hill Farm, just outside of Columbus, the weekend of September 15. Under the tutelage of Aaron England, his apprentice Michael Battenfield and England's long-time student, Kathy King Raedeke, 8 of the 11 were successfully gentled, haltered, saddled and ridden in and out of the round pens. Several out of towners and supporters of the NHC joined in the weekend. 2 of the horses found new homes ... a beautiful 3 year old Conservancy mare and a darling red roan 2 year old filly. Congratulations to Christine and Neva McGowan (11 years old) from Chester Springs, PA.
